Okay so it was back to the 'grind' with the rest of the Urban Growth talent tour... We hit Leic. Notts. Sheff. and last but not least Derby..... Notts and Sheff was good...okay turnout... not big! but enuff to get a 'vibe' going...... Fusion a street dance crew from Notts 'killed' it in my opinion and got through with this singer..... who spoke to me I said 'I knew somebody she knew'... people use that line alot to spark convo but it was true..... (small world).
In Sheff some geezer got up and started singing and I was like "I know this dude from somewhere"..... turns out it was Joseph from X factor... the one Cheryl Cole was (excuse my french) wetting her..... ova...lol he was Okay..... never smashed it (no hate) He got tru.... what I respected was the fact he could have thought... "I'm too big for talent shows now" but he is obviously still on the grind... (note 2 others and self never get too big for your own boots).
Alright onto to Derby.... now this is where I live... so I was interested to know who would turn up... I hosted last years one in Derby... it was okay... but my main criticism with Derbz is people are really not supportive to anything other than 'bullshit'.... sorry the real is the real... so I speak it as I see it..... Okay!!!! So as I feared no -one turned up.... other than artists entering the competion... some one even came all the way from Brum to enter... but NO CROWD... wether this was down to bad publicity..etc I don't know dats not my job... i'm da host...yazeemi BUT this seems to be a trend in Derby for things like this...... BUT for the 20 or so people in there we got it cracking!!!! Big up to Swift 89 who was runner-up and came down afta I phoned him and said "theres this talent ting tonite roll tru...." no excuses, no I'm busy.... he jus reached (take note peeps) so he will be reppin Derbz alongside UK OK J1-keys anf Kaos.. who won it.... song was tuff and ressurected my faith in the talent in Derbz.... let's see what cracks off in the final... not being bias...(of course I am) but I want Derbz to bring da trophy home GET your A game on lads.
So that's that done and dusted Urban Growth heats dun..... final in Feb (Notts) will keep you posted about that..... Big Respect to the Raw Talent team...
